Corteva® (ag company of DowDuPont®) recently released the Enlist trait upon receiving full market clearance. “We will see Enlist in our 2019 Discovery Plots,” said Kevin Carlson, Federated’s agronomy manager, “along with the rest of the traits and germ plasm we currently have.”

Enlist is the first three modes of action, post-emerge product containing a combination of 24D, glyphosate, and glufosinate, “which is a nice stacked trait option for weed resistance management,” said Carlson. “It is very good on giant ragweed and good on waterhemp.

The new traits and herbicide system will be sprayed on production soybeans this year, which means “we will get a good look at Enlist,” said Carlson. “We will have seed and commercial production in 2019; we sold Enlist soybeans to growers on a small extent for 2019 in [Federated’s] geography.”
